Tired of Depression – so there!

Okay, today, I’m going to think positive!  🙂

I’m positive my family loves me.

I’m positive I have friends.

I’m positive I’m smart and have a great sense of humor.

I’m positive that I will publish a book this year.

I’m positive that tomorrow is the first day of spring, snowstorms be damned!  🙂

I Love GameStop!

I AM GEEKING OUT.  I just traded in the kids’ now-unused  DSi systems and 59 games at GameStop. With our membership discount card, plus their special double credit for systems, and a bonus 30% for trading in more than 7 games, we ended up with enough to completely cover the cost of an iPad2, with almost $60 left over.  W00T!

Getting rid of gross interior car window film — how!?!?

Can anyone give me an effective solution to getting rid of This opaque yucky Whitish Film that appears on the inside of my car windows? It seems particularly bad on my windshield But it does appear on all of my windows. I’ve tried windex,  Some sort of foam based window cleaner , and other similar items, To no avail. I’ve used paper towel, regular towels, shammy cloth ( I know that’s not spelled right but I’m using voice recognition on my phone). None of those seem to make a difference. The cloudiness may go for a day or 2 but then it is back. Sometimes it lasts only an hour or so or less before it starts to come back. Help! I’m not a smoker. What causes it? What cleaner would be best to get rid of it? What sort of material should I use for the wiping? Any suggestions welcome!

Whale Watching with the New England Aquarium in Boston

The hubby, kids and I went on a 3 hour whale watching tour (“a three hour tour…”) yesterday with our neighbors and their kids. I’d bought two tour packages last September through from the New England Aquarium in Boston. Very much worth it!

We had a nice time just watching the ocean, riding the swells, and hoping to see whales. We saw a lot of white-sided dolphins, and several ‘blows’ (the exhalations of the whales), but it wasn’t until almost the end of the trip when we had a spectacular viewing of a Fin Whale. He was beautiful, coming to the surface and swimming along side us several times.

We didn’t get to see any breaching Humpbacks but it was still thrilling. I’d love to go again someday. 🙂

Christmas 2011

Well, I’m doing a bit better with the Spirit than I was the first half of the month.  I get so down and depressed and STRESSED at this time of the year.  Ugh.  The darkness doesn’t help, nor does my hubby’s Grinch-like tendencies.

Luckily, the kids have once again made me feel better.  🙂  I love my kids.  I am so happy they are in my life.

Thanksgiving tomorrow

The family and are heading to Maine for Thanksgiving.  Leaving in the morning, as currently there is a snow/rainstorm blowing through New Hampshire and Maine.    We had originally planned to leave this evening, but caution is best.

I am thankful for:

My kids and hubby

My friends, old and new

My mother and the rest of my family

My health, which really is decent except for a few muscle aches  🙂

My mind, which works well most of the time

My sense of humor, which has gotten me through 42 years so far

My job, which stresses me out but has tons of good qualities too

My re-discovery of my love of writing 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
